HVLS industrial ceiling fans for warehouse and commercial buildings

"Our utility bill dropped immediately, and we saw the savings in the first month - around $1,800!"

Gary Smith Sr.
President, G. Smith Motorsports

"They [MacroAir fans] are truly a blessing. People love them. And I've heard nothing but compliments. They do a great job cooling the sanctuary and are really quiet as advertised. They are sleek and modern with simple and intuitive controls. Many of our sermons are broadcast live from Wexford onto a huge projection screen. The fans move a lot of air without ruffling the screen."

Kevin Burke
Architect, Dormont, PA

Benefits

HVLS (high-volume, low-speed) is an industrial ceiling fan that moves much more air than a traditional fan. It rotates fewer times in a similar period while, improving the overall efficiency of the ventilation achieved. HVLS fans have longer blades so that they can generate large convections of air that travel farther and affect a greater area than traditional fans. This enables HVLS fans to thoroughly circulate the air in commercial and industrial applications that have large open areas like warehouses, hangars, sports arenas, terminal concourses, etc.

FAQs

HVLS stands for high-volume, low-speed…

…meaning that the fan moves much more air than a traditional fan, while rotating fewer times in a similar period, improving the overall efficiency of the ventilation achieved. Another big factor that separates HVLS fans from normal fans is the size of their blades (or airfoils).

We want you to get the best deal on the system that’s right for you...

JSO has a knowledgeable and growing network of dealers and technicians throughout the United States and in select international locations. JSO MacroAir HVLS fans are also available by special order at most major US auto-parts stores.

Each HVLS-fan configuration is a unique opportunity to ensure that you get the most value for your investment. With custom application engineering layouts and AirViz fluid-dynamic visualizations, JSO works to ensure an optimized, efficient solution for your facility’s indoor air quality, comfort, and productivity.

Rather than post prices for a product that may not be tailored to you or your local guidelines, we make sure that you get help from an experienced dealer representative to get your system just right!

The answer to this one is no sweat

…actually, it is sweat! Evaporative cooling takes advantage of water’s capability to remove energy (heat) as it changes from liquid to vapor and moves from one place to another. This is why we sweat to cool off and animals that don’t sweat find other sources of moisture to achieve evaporative cooling.

HVLS fans are so effective at moving air and equalizing temperature and humidity in a space, they can make the air feel up to 8 degrees cooler just by keeping humid, stagnant air from collecting around occupants. This, in turn, lets the occupants feel more comfortable and at ease with the task they are engaged in.

Balancing temperature and humidity can also keep condensation from collecting and causing slippery conditions or ruining stored items.

Hot air rises, right?...

…So, the air close to your ceiling can be surprisingly warmer than the air near your floor, and you! Worse, once heat gets trapped near your ceilings, it can stagnate and be hard to circulate back into the rest of the air in your space. And, since heat loss is faster when the difference in temperature is greater, energy is more quickly lost from hotter air near the ceiling. So, you don’t get to enjoy that heat AND you’re using more energy to keep your space warm.

By running your HVLS fan in reverse, air is pushed away from the ceilings, down the wall, and across the floor to evenly distribute air temperatures, without creating any chilling breeze.

TONS! Starting with your HVAC…

Big fans can make almost any commercial or industrial indoor climate more comfortable and efficient just by letting you ease off on the thermostat because the air is moving and more evenly distributed. This alone can save up to 20% on your energy bills.

And, if HVLS fans are incorporated into the design of the space huge savings can be made in HVAC equipment sizing, duct-material usage (or elimination thereof), and the associated labor. Not only will this reduce the cost of your design, but the savings in materials and increase in efficiency can earn you LEED points.

YES!...

Humidity and moisture distribution are core strengths of high-volume, low-speed fans. Even with powerful HVAC and dehumidification systems, avoiding mildew, stagnation, and condensation can be challenging. HVLS fans are ideal for maintaining the circulation necessary to avoid the temperature differentials that cause the condensation and moisture stagnation that lead to sweaty slab syndrome and poor indoor air quality.

You’ve got better things to worry about…

JSO's MacroAir fans only require an annual visual inspection and the occasional blade wiping, if significant dust or grime begins to collect.

Of course, if you notice any damage or malfunction, do not operate the fan, refer to your product manual, and contact us to ensure the issue is corrected before resuming use of the fan.

Yes!..

Many happy JOS-fan owners have taken the DIY approach to installation.
